Financial 'YouTube' launched by Thomson Reuters
26th May 2010
Financial data company Thomson Reuters is launching what it calls ‘YouTube for the financial industry'.

The "Insider" video platform is aimed at venture capitalists, traders, hedge fund managers, brokers and research analysts and hopes to change the way financial news and research is distributed, from conventional one-way communications to eye-catching interactive and collaborative debates.

The Insider platform will use a variety of content from banks, asset managers and other financial services companies as well as Thomson Reuters' own video content produced using its network of journalists, and financial analysts recently hired to provide specialist commentary.

A collection of well known banks and financial institutions are already sign-up to this initiative, which the providers hope will distinguish them from their closest rivals.
