Mobile phone access to the Web has now overtaken desktop PC viewing numbers and is set to continue that way for the forseeable future. Lower costs and widespread access to wireless technology in the UK has meant that we now prefer to use our phones to go online.
This shift to mobile phone Web browsing is changing the way we interact with the Web and will result in big changes to Web design and marketing.
Of course it remains difficult to view a nomal Website on a smart phone so Website pages are now being designed with the smart phone user in mind. Mobile Web pages are no longer so unusual and and can be configured to automatically appear when the normal Website address is called from a smart phone.
These mobile Web page have far less text and navigation and are a lot easier to use. In terms of insurance sites they are ideal for displaying useful contact names and numbers, support and claims lines and other key information.
